The Congolese artist Faustin Linyekula has used theatre and dance to stage Eric Vuillard’s novel Congo, which relates the story of the Berlin Conference of 1884 during which Africa was partitioned. Together they speak about colonial history and its violence, and about the memory and wounds of a country, thus enlightening our present.
